OZONE

An ozone machine (also air purifier) produces ozone, a gas that’s formed naturally by ultraviolet rays. We also get ozone when there is lightning. When ozone hits the earth, an oxygen molecule splits into 2 atoms. The atoms attach themselves to other oxygen molecules to form an ozone (O₃) molecule.
That fresh smell in the air after a storm is O₃. Fortunately, we can produce O₃ artificially with the help of an air purifier or even a water purifier.

What Ozone Does

Ozone is a strong oxidant. In other words, when it comes into contact with fungi, mold, bacteria, and other microorganisms, it oxidizes them. As a result, we can enjoy disinfected, sterile air and water without chemicals or unsavory odours.
This is a non-selective process. It means that bacteria can’t develop a resistance to ozone.

Why You Need an Air Purifier

Ozone is a highly effective oxidant. It neutralises both inorganic and organic materials, successfully killing off bacteria, mould, viruses, germs, fungi, and mildew. You can also use an ozone machine to kill off impurities and odours in both water and air. That makes it even more effective than chemicals.

An Ozone Generator Does It All

When you use chemicals to clean away bacteria, the chemicals leave behind a residue that is not healthy for humans. When you use an ozone generator to purify your air and water, no chemical residues are left behind. It’s also better at killing odors as ozone kills the bacteria responsible for odours, instead of just masking the smell with chemicals. Best of all, O₃ works up to 3,000 times faster and is as much as 2.5 times stronger than regular chlorine.

Ailsa has spent most of her career in the spheres of marketing and sales. Having studied Training and Development, Public Relations, and Human Resources, Ailsa entered the world of ozone therapy over 12 years ago. Having quickly gained a passion for cleaner, purer air and water and the incredible benefits of O₃, Ailsa started working in the ozone/UV industry selling equipment for domestic, commercial, and the hospitality markets while still offering ozone therapy on a private basis. She has since added BioMat to her therapy and qualified as a Kinesiologist.

Pam Naughton

Pam spent more than 20 years in sales and sales management positions before finding a passion in customer relationship management and contact centres. Until recently, she managed the contact centre at one of South Africa’s major paint manufacturers. In January 2024 she joined Your Presence where she will be focusing on the recently launched Water Bar.
